Miranda Priestly in the Devil Wears Prada said it best, “Florals? For spring? Ground breaking.” But let’s be honest, there is nothing quite as evocative of warm, breezy days ahead. Find comfort in these timeless motifs and let’s be thankful for their presence as a sign that winter is almost completely behind us.

We can count on the Oscars to deliver teary-eyed acceptance speeches, endless montages, over-the-top parodies, somber tributes and of course all the red carpet glamour. This year our envy really did cause us to see green as sparkling emerald accessories made a bold statement. Ranging from the huge pendant seen on Celine Dion to the tear-drop earrings Reese Witherspoon was flaunting, emerald was the number one accessory for Hollywood starlets.
The verdant shade is perfectly fitting for this time of year with St. Patrick’s Day approaching and the promise of spring. Its calming and fresh qualities also make it the go-to color for any interior. So celebrate March and the impending ode to Irish luck by adding a little green into your life.

Tangerine, pumpkin, coral, peach or salmon―no matter what the shade we have a feeling that fashion’s bright bursts of orange might have encouraged the groundhog not to see his shadow today!
With snowfall nearly reaching our knees this week, we thought we’d bring some spring cheer early. Vibrant shades of orange were seen all over the runway, echoing a season filled with breezy sundresses, cool drinks and the fragrant scent of newly opened blooms.

Velours Oriental
Velours Oriental originated from a tapestry in the Schumacher archives featuring a classic bizarre design that combines baroque patterning with exotic Oriental motifs. Its decorative details have now been interpreted in a four frame, or four colored, cotton and linen velvet-and-epinglé quality, giving it amazing texture and dimension. Its rich weave is echoed by deep and exotic colorations which also give nod to modern color trends in plum, charcoal grey and chartreuse. Its plush appearance is enhanced by its durability, making it suitable for upholstery in both residential and contract applications.
