Millionaire’s Mansion Showhouse

Valerie Onor was named Designer of the Year for her work in Mansions & Millionaires.  Inspired by the home’s 1915 décor and the original “Marouflage” mural in the bed alcove, which features a Chinese pavilion, mountains and exotic birds, Onor created an interior space that honors the past, while remaining firmly rooted in the present.

Onor’s design “My Suite Embraceable You” includes lush furnishings—velvets, silks, a touch of lace in soft colors—that enhance the romantic mood. Fresh wallpaper, fine linens and accessories complement the original brass fixtures, antique wall scale and tile.

Tell what about this space inspires you and what you look for when you tour a showhouse…

I look for timelessness and freshness. Not “fuddy duddy” but not so “out there” that I’ll get sick of it quickly.
